Linking Apps

Linking to the Play app from a Buzztouch app.

It’s impossible to go directly to the rate/comment section, but it’s easy enough to open the main screen of the app in google play.

In BTv1.4 enter the market:// link in a custom url.

I’ll use the men in black 3 game:

market://details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftMBHM

Open your project in eclipse.

In the src folder find and open the Act_ActivityBase.java file

Go to around line 170 – this section of code:

//url contains soundcloud if(jsonString.contains(“soundcloud.com”)){ useMyIntent = 0; }

underneath it, add this code:

//url contains market://if(jsonString.contains(“market://”)){ useMyIntent = 0; }

Save.

Finished.

JUNE 11, 2012 WWDC’s real news: Apple moves beyond iOS and OS X

A look at Apple’s areas of focus reveals that the iPhone, iPad, and Mac are vessels for Apple’s services strategy

From a June 11th, Business Insider article, ” Apple is trying to make the web irrelevant. No company really owns the internet, but if you had to pick one company that comes close, it’s Google. Search is the starting point to most usage of the web. Apple is trying to change this with “app banners” for mobile websites.

If you visit Yelp.com on mobile Safari, you’ll see a banner ad that says, “We have an iPhone app!” The idea is to get you to use the app, not the mobile web. The more you use the app, the less you use the mobile web. The less you use the mobile web, the less you use Google.”

It seems Apple has never heard of Chrome.
